Spectrum Cares About Social Responsibility
Spectrum Plastics Group cares deeply about corporate social responsibility and environmental, social & governance accountability.
Our corporate, social, responsibility (CSR) initiative is called Spectrum Cares. Through this program, our volunteer teams make charitable donations and participate in community involvement projects, both individually and at the corporate level.
Our commitment to CSR spans our global sites, and we support many charitable organizations. Our primary focus includes the following:
When employees participate in a volunteering program, Spectrum pays for their time off! It’s one of the many benefits of working here.
We are very proud of the recent tremendous efforts that have taken place. In 2022, Spectrum team members collectively donated 2000+ volunteer hours, donated $250K, and helped more than 100 charities.
Since we started the Spectrum Cares program, we have achieved some remarkable milestones in global communities. For example:
At our headquarters in Alpharetta, Georgia, our team volunteered at a local community food bank providing access to healthy foods for some of the community’s most vulnerable families. We assisted by sorting, packing, and distributing food.
The Fluid Management team was very busy in 2022 helping many local organizations. For example:
Our Interventional and Surgical Technologies (IST) team in Wall, New Jersey, volunteered their time at the Fulfill Food Bank. Over several months, 30+ employees participated, donating 124 volunteer hours sorting, packing, and distributing food for dozens of community pick-ups at the food bank. Our entire Tucson (IST) site shut down for a complete day to allow its employees to participate in a Habitat for Humanity project to build strength, stability and self-reliance homes for Southern Arizona. The employees very much enjoyed the experience while they helped out with anything from painting to installing insulation.
Our Specialty and Medical Flexibles team members in Pleasant Prairie, Wisconsin, used their Volunteer Time Off (VTO) to participate in the Keep Kenosha Beautiful Beach Clean-up Program.
Our Costa Rica team donated to Charity Club de Leones and helped families that have children with cancer buy food.
In 2021, our Specialty Molding team in Pittsfield, Massachusetts, donated to a local food drive and sponsored 25 children. The team also brought these children gifts during the holiday season.
The benefits of these programs were not only to the organizations and communities that were assisted, but also the enrichment of our employees who took part in these efforts.
“Whether it's planting trees to help the environment, donating to a local cause, delivering meals to the less fortunate, or participating in a park clean-up. Spectrum is committed to continuing our Corporate Social Responsibility efforts across the globe within all of the communities we are so fortunate to be a part of," says Tracy Gahagan, Vice President of Sales for Specialty and Medical Flexibles and 2022 CSR Steering Committee Leader.
In addition to caring about our corporate social responsibilities, we also understand that our business decisions impact the community, the planet, and our team. Spectrum aims to drive innovation, mitigate risk, foster employee engagement, increase productivity, and reduce costs—all while maintaining the highest ethical, professional, and legal standards. We achieve these goals through effective leadership, management, and a strong commitment to continual improvement. Our values include the following:
