Spectrum Announces Costa Rica Facility Expansion

Expansion will add sterile DuPont™ Tyvek® medical packaging capabilities and expand our medical tubing operation in Costa Rica.

Expansion Operational in 2024

Spectrum Plastics Group, a DuPont Business, (“Spectrum”), a global solutions provider for development through scaled manufacturing of critical polymer-based components and devices for medical and other demanding markets, has just announced the expansion of its Costa Rica manufacturing site.

From its manufacturing facility in Heredia, Costa Rica, Spectrum provides its Latin American customers with medical packaging tubing, and assemblies. This existing 36,000-square-foot operation manufactures medical tubing, custom films, pouches, and bags for the medical, food, and industrial markets.

  • To increase capacity and provide faster service, Spectrum will expand the Heredia operation from 36,000 square feet to 52,000 square feet. The new space will accommodate additional extrusion equipment and production lines, including the ability to provide sterile packaging—a first in Costa Rica. Spectrum is a DuPont™ Tyvek® Authorized Converter for the healthcare industry.

When operational, the new expansion will be ISO 13485:2016 and ISO 9001:2015 certified. Its technical, assembly and packaging staff will adhere to highest-quality standards and protocols with a 24/7 production schedule to support our current and new customers.
